What you can do
Day counter
The number of days since 24 February 2022, at the top of the section.
Air-raid status
Every oblast marked under alert or clear, with the time of the last update.
Front-line map
Occupied territory shaded from DeepState data, with a legend written in plain words.
The human cost
Occupied area and its weekly change, and the number of refugees abroad from UNHCR figures.
War news
Reporting from Ukrainian and international newsrooms, never from the aggressor's media.
Milestones
Optional notices at every hundredth day and on anniversaries.
In detail
Care with difficult images
Graphic war reporting is hidden and sensitive photos are blurred unless you choose otherwise in Settings. Many diaspora readers have family at the front; Baba is built with that in mind.
Questions
Does Baba send air-raid alerts?
Baba shows the live air-raid status of every region inside the War section. It does not send a push notification for each alert; for that, people in Ukraine use the official Air Alert app.
Where does the map data come from?
Occupied territory comes from DeepState, refugee figures from UNHCR and Eurostat, and alert status from a public Ukrainian air-alert feed. Each source is credited in the app.
